Helping the Team

We are looking for €3550 (about US$5000) in commercial sponsorship to help subsidise rest-day hotels, rest-day restaurants and transport support for our team of 3-5 hardy volunteers.

Every team member coming along to help us spread awareness and inspiration is doing this at their own cost. We are all self funded. Some of us are wealthier than others. As you can imagine those that can spare two months of their lives typically have no big income, whereas those who have the money don't have the time to come along! So to keep the team spirits up we have traditionally found commercial sponsors to help with certain costs along the way.

a) Transport. Each day we are likely to require some kind of transport to either ferry a team member with an injury, carry some of our gear (though we will all walk with a backpack!), carry the loads of medication and therapeutic devices (nebuliser, medicine,..). Some of the medicine requires to stay cool, and carrying meds in a backpack is not ideal!

b) Accommodation on the test days. In our experience rest days are days when there is a nice hotel available. Those with more $$$ wish to stay there, but it would divide the team if some cannot afford that. So as a treat sponsors come along to help pay for the rest days in a comfortable hotel.

c) Restaurants on rest days are also important, and again the wealthier amongst us would like to visit a nice restaurant as a treat. Keeping a team together is really important and having subsidised nice dinners on rest days is a real treat to the team.

Remember the team works hard each day, distributing postcards, helping Walter along, finding accommodation  transport, explaining what we are doing to people along the way, explaining Walter i not spreading germs with his coughing etc. Although it is a great experience for each member of the team it is also a great sacrifice to come along.

On the below schedule we have designated 11 (for now randomly assigned) rest stops. Assigning a reasonable value of €50 for each transport day,  €50 for a dinner subsidy on rest days and  €50 for hotel subsidy for the rest days equates to a total sponsorship value of  €3550 for the entire trip, about US$5K.

INTERESTED IN SPONSORING?

If you are an organisation that would like to sponsor us for any of the Way of CF event we will clearly mention your company on our blog each day you have helped us. Of course we will also put our top sponsors in a prominent position on the web and mention you whenever we can.

In total we are requesting subsidies for 33 transport days, 19 restaurant visits and 19 hotel night subsidies.  Email sponsor@coughing4cf.com to help us out!
